Remote meter reading
The automatic remote reading of meters (water, gas, heat, etc.) plays an increasingly important role in the operation of buildings in terms of efficiency and energy conservation. CIBEK offers solutions based on the M-Bus or pulse counting.
M-Bus
The M-Bus (Meter Bus) is a European-standardized (EN 13757) communication system for remote reading of utility meters. It can also communicate with sensors and actuators. The data collected by the counter are transferred via M-bus telegrams to the higher level systems.
Pulse counting
While pulse counting the counter (for example, a calibrated water meter) is expanded with a pulse module, that transmits electronic pulses to a counter module. One pulse corresponds, for example, to one liter. To communicate with higher-level automation systems, the counter module usually contains a standardized interface, for example, for KNX.
