Intergenerational living in Kaiserlautern

In 2007 in Kaiserslautern, a unique residential project "Assisted Living" has started. It focuses on the intergenerational living together in a household, supported by modern technology. The Bau AG of Kaiserslautern has implemented this advanced form of accommodation with scientific support of the University of Kaiserslautern (Prof. Dr. Lothar Litz). The project is promoted by the Ministry of Finance Rhineland-Palatinate.

All residents of "Assisted Lliving" are being supported by PAUL, the Personal Assistant for Assisted Living. PAUL is a handy and Internet-enabled tablet PC with a touch screen. Its modules and links are conceived and implemented by CIBEK from Limburgerhof under the leadership of Bernd Klein. The operation is performed only via the touch screen.The keyboard or mouse are unnecessary.
